The Schuster Center

Welcome to the Benjamin & Marian Schuster Performing Arts Center, Dayton’s favorite place to go when it comes to all things related to performance arts! Anybody from the Buckeye State will tell you that it is one of, if not, the best theaters out there to grab your family and have an enjoyable time in.

If you are a fan of ballets, operas, orchestras, musicals, and plays, the Schuster Performing Arts Center is one of the first places you will want to visit!

Ever since its opening in 2003, it has been a beacon of shining cultural light to the City of Dayton, promoting lively arts and theater for all those who wish to see. The theater is a house of wonders presenting superb shows, providing up to 2300 of nothing but the world’s finest cushions for your comfort during the entertainment. It is a place that can be considered a wonder of the world, with its jaw-dropping architecture. Its vast Wintergarden and beautiful palm trees is a remarkable sight, and the Mead Theater domed ceiling portraying the Dayton skies as the Wright Brothers saw it on the eve of their first flight represents the culturally rich history of the city; of course, let’s not forget the black box theater that has left so many in awe.

The performances are no short of world-class either, with the Dayton Opera, Dayton Ballet, and Dayton Philharmonic calling the theater home. Many touring Broadway productions such as Phantom of the Opera, Les Miserables, and Dear Evan Hansen to name a SMALL have also rented the theater. The theater has also housed many exhibits and concerts across the years, introducing a different form of The Arts to the people. Never let it be said that Dayton is a boring and culturally stale City!

The excitement of such a beautiful marvel of architecture is well-known to the people of Dayton, of course, so let us step back from that a bit.

Of course, the theater is not the only thing that makes the Schuster Center a work of art. Aside from its world-class performances and exhibits, its hospitality is also world-class. What is the best musical or concert in the world if you are too uncomfortable to enjoy it? And indeed, this is something César Pelli, the architectural genius behind the Schuster Center, thought of when his theater was nothing but scribbles on paper.

One of the most important and underrated pieces of technology in theaters is temperature control—a different form of art where we at JBS Energy Solutions thrive!

Imagine you are an actor or an actress on stage wearing thick costumes in the middle of summer. Without air conditioning, you would sooner faint from heat exhaustion than finish delivering your lines or singing your song. And even if you were resilient, nobody wants to be sweating buckets during their big day in front of two thousand people. Alternatively, imagine you are an audience member at the back shivering from the cold, unable to enjoy the theater experience because of the uncontrolled air conditioning.

No matter how you look at it, air conditioning is a crucial part when it comes to everyone’s comforts in the Schuster Center. We may be an invisible contributor, but a contributor, nonetheless. Many of us here at JBS Energy Solutions are big fans of theater ourselves, which is why we want to play our part in getting the show on the road! We may not be breaking legs, but through clean ventilation, our top-of-the-line thermostats, eco-friendly air conditioning, and effective heating systems, we are the phantoms that keep the opera-going.

Break a leg, Schuster Center, and enjoy the show, Dayton!
